How much should wedding rings cost?
Hello all! My fiance and I need to go shopping for our wedding rings and we don’t really know what to expect. We are on a budget — so we don’t want to spend a lot; however, we still want nice rings. As for material, we would like to go with white gold (to match my engagement ring).
Please help! What should we expect? How much for quality, etc?
Thanks!

Hello! Congratulations
My fiance and I are also going to be getting white gold bands. Mine is going to be about 300 (it’s a matched set to go with my engagement ring so it’s a bit cheaper because we bought the engagement ring with them already). It has diamonds around half of the ring..I believe it’s 1/6 of a carat
his is going to be about 350-400. He wanted to get a nice band with a small design on it and a few diamonds (1/6 of a carat as well) in the band itself, but you don’t have to do that if your fiance doesn’t like it (men can be picky too lol) If that’s the case, his will probably be cheaper.
So that’s the price range of a few small diamonds added on, but really if you need to stick to a smaller budget there are bands that are 80-100 bucks which isn’t bad at all, and they’re still good quality.
Just shop around online first and see what you find so you’ll kind of know what you’re talking about when you go to the jewelry store. That’s what we did! lol
Good luck!
stay within your budget!
The cost of your rings should depend on your budget. If you are happy with plain bands, that will be the cheapest route. However, keep in mind that gold is VERY expensive nowadays!
Shopping online can get you a much better deal.
Expect to be talked into things you don’t really need with jewelers.
Do what we did! We waited for the sales and we got my ring that was originally $400 (with a row of diamonds) for $125! We got his ring, originally $800 for $450!!! His had some diamonds too. Of course you can get much simpler rings for about $100 a peice on sale so it really comes down to what you want.
If you are set on diamonds, you’re going to get very little for a lot of money. Try looking at all your options and several different stores. If you are not opposed to color, try alternating sapphire & diamonds. If you just want a solid gold band, thats the cheapest option by far. You might find more options on websites like http://www.overstock.com and ebay.Good luck!
Whatever you can afford! If you can afford a $1K ring, then that’s what it should cost. You can go shopping now and find out what you can get for your money. If you don’t like the ring selection in your price range, then you know you need to save up a bit before you buy one, or you upgrade later in life.
3 months of his salary is what they say
how ever much you an afford though
*edit* sorry i told you engagement ring!!
They should cost whatever you can afford. Get the little ring now. Save, make some money, get it upgraded. You can ALWAYS get an upgrade if you save.
You can get stainless rings for 10 to 15 dollars.
It would mean as much as a $5,000.00 ring.
On-line you can get them for one dollar

That would be cool. You could tell everyone you were working together to see how much money you could save.
Wedding cost $14.00. Rings were $2.00 plus shipping.
Hehehe…
Stainless lasts forever.
I don’t like gold.
The ring I got him (as an upgrade to his $60 Wal-Mart band) was $500:

at a regular jewelry store
I saw one that looks just like mine, for $400:

at Sam’s Club…
You can get rings for ANY budget. Whether they’re sterling silver costing £3 ($6) each or if you choose platinum, and paying £2,000 ($4,000) per ring.
You just have to decide which stores suit your budget. Our budget was £500 for the pair. There’s a jeweller local to us that I’ve been going to for about 10 years. They have decent items, and they don’t charge the earth. We found our matching rings for a total of £250

One thing I should tell you though - Our jeweller said that it can take up to 100 days for your rings to be ready, so you need to be organised and shop for them at least 3 months before the wedding.
My fiancee’s ring is 3 small diamonds (I think 1/8 carat) and white gold and his was about $200. Mine is a thin band with 1/4 carat of small diamonds all around and I think it was $400…a year ago. They were both from zales.
It depends on your taste and budget. I have a brilliant cut solitare and am into clean lines so I opted for a simple 14K white gold 4mm band and packed all the cash in to the diamond on the engagement ring! LOL
I think mine was originally about $125 and I got it on sale for about $90 or so. His was on sale from $400 to 200 or so. If you really want to save stay off of jewelry row and go to a mall jeweler since the band tends to be more simple or have smaller diamonds, where the 4 C’s won’t make too much of a difference. Craftsmanship and quality are important but don’t justify going to jewelers row in my mind, unless it’s for the engagement ring…
A simple plain band probable would start around $125 - $150.
My fiance got tungsten which was $100.
Here is a thin plain band for only $75. It would probably be fine as a woman’s ring, but I’d definitely get something thicker for the groom.

It completely depends on you and the ring you choose. Firstly, according to your affordability the price of the wedding ring differs. And Secondly, wedding ring cost also differs based on the setting , designs, metals you choose for your ring.
