Want to have a Destination Cruise Wedding to Hawaii!?

My fiance and I have been engaged for 2 years this December and we’re ready to be married. We’ve gone through alot of stuff (such as moving, post-poning our fully-planned wedding, trying to buy a home, living with relatives, etc..) that has really disabled us to be able to get married. At this point we’ve both decided that eloping seems like the best choice for us. Going to Vegas has crossed our minds, but we have been wanting to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon for a long time. Also, at one point we had planned to go on a caribbean cruise for our less expensive honeymoon.
The alternative? A destination cruise to hawaii!!!!!! (Or perhaps some other caribbean/atlantic/pacific island)
We aren’t going to have much money and are looking for the cheapest prices. Does anyone have any suggestions or alternate ideas that could help us out?

Any helpful advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

My husband and I did a “runaway wedding” (just the two of us) this past February. We picked a 10-night cruise on the Emerald Princess and got married on a beach in St. Lucia. We absolutely loved everything about it…we would not change one thing. It was stress free and romantic (since it was just us).

As far as prices go, the cruises vary in price (depending on the cruise line, the age of the ship, the destination, etc). Our reason for a destination wedding: we wanted our ceremony to be extremely special and intimate. We did not invite anyone for the obvious reason…we wanted to be alone during our honeymoon. :) Our cruise was more expensive than some because, at the time, our ship was <1 year old and it was a 10-night (instead of 7-night)…and, of course, we HAD to have a balcony. :) The ceremony was inexpensive at around 2K or so. Depending on where you are from, air to and/or from Hawaii can be pricey…something to consider if you are trying to keep it under a budget.

You can definitely find inexpensive cruises to lessen the cost. Also, friends of mine were married in St. Thomas on a Carnival cruise and they absolutely loved their experience as well.

If you are considering this for real, I would definitely call around to different cruise lines to get their wedding information. They will all send you the different packages via email…so you can take a look for yourself.

Hope this helps! Good luck and congrats!!

there are a few ships that can marry you at sea most marry you in the port. We got married on the Caribbean princess somewhere at sea last December and it was fantastic. About 35 family members made it and it was hassle free and cheap. the captain of the boat is a kick and did a great job. We got pictures all over the boat and got to go to the bridge and take pictures there (where the captain drives the boat) I have no complaints and highly recommend it.

call princess, hollandamerica, celebrity, carnival, cunard and have them send their wedding packages to you. You can then decide if this is the way for you to proceed.
