Were to stay in Hawaii (wedding)? which island, which resort?

We have finally settled on a destination of Hawaii to get married next year. Just wondering if anyone had any favorite places to stay (affordable) or any personal experiences in Hawaii. We are thinking about two weeks, first week with the wedding on one island and then switching to another island for the second week. Probably about 30-40 people attending. Any thoughts? thanks in advance…

Congrats! Hawaii is so romantic. Splitting up your two weeks is a good idea. The web site listed below gives you a quiz and then based on your answers recommends an island for you. You may want to do your wedding on Oahu for flying convenience for your guests, and then go to one of the other islands.

Which resort? A nice one on Maui is the Wailea resort for the honeymoon. Look into the Four Seasons, Fairmont Kealani.

For the wedding I would rent some vacation homes. It’s much cheaper than hotels for so many people and it’s cool having families hang out together. Plus more room and luxury.

Check out the island of Kauai - and perhaps consider the ceremony at the Coco Palms (now shut down resort, but where Elvis got married in a movie).

Kauai is the "Garden Isle" - most laid back and scenic of the four main touristy island.

Then check out the Big Island for after the wedding - lots of things to do there. Hilo is the rainy, but touristy side. Kona is the dryer side. Check out Hilton Wiakola - great place if it is in your price range.
